Attention all college students!!! You have made it to the end of Fall 2024 semester! Woot woot!!! We are so proud of you and excited for what your future holds! As winter break approaches, you deserve some peaceful and relaxing time off. We want to give you some tips on how to enjoy your stress-free break.
Breathe and debrief
First off, breathe and decompress. Provide your mind with some positive affirmations. Look back at the semester and think about what you are proud of. Give yourself credit for the hardships you have persevered and pushed through to get where you are today.
Communicating and Socializing
Remember college students, it’s your time off. Communicating when you need some time away is crucial to enjoying your time away from school. Ease into family time and also enjoy time to yourself to reflect, debrief, and relax.
Keep a winter break schedule
While you do have time off from school it is important to keep some sort of day-to-day schedule. Making sure to at least get 8 hours of sleep to feel refreshed for the next day and taking time to get ready for each day during your break helps with your mental health. Getting dressed and or taking a shower helps restart a new day with a positive and healthy mindset.
Be mindful and kind to yourself
Remember that you deserve this time off from school. It’s important to do things you love, appreciate or miss during the Fall semester. Enjoy a new hobby, listen to some music or have some downtime to journal or meditate.
We hope that these tips help you during your winter break. Enjoy your time off and remember: You got this and we are so proud of everything you did and continue to do!
