6th Annual "Race to Zero" 5K Run/Walk

Grab your running shoes, friends, and family and join ZCenter for our 6th Annual Race to Zero 5K run/walk to end sexual violence at 9 AM Sunday, April 22 at Independence Grove in Libertyville. Registration will begin at 8:00 AM.  This event celebrates and coincides with Sexual Assault Awareness Month and is an opportunity for the public to come together to raise awareness and create a community of zero tolerance for sexual violence! This year for the first time, the race will be officially chip timed and we are excited to partner with the Libertyville Running Club who will measure our course and sponsor our water stations! ZCenter is committed to providing a place where survivors of sexual assault and abuse can heal and mobilize the community toward action to end sexual violence.  With locations in Gurnee and Skokie, ZCenter is Lake County’s only rape crisis center and provides free, comprehensive, professional support to assist survivors in the healing process, as well as prevention education programs for children and adults.  By participating as an individual or forming a team, runners can help raise funds for critical client services including counseling, court/medical advocacy and 24-hour support line programs. Help us design this year’s race t-shirt! The Race to Zero 5K started 6 years ago as a place for community activism and we want to engage all our supporters and friends to be a huge part of the race this year.
