ZCenter provides services to the community at large and to other professionals and service providers to enhance the understanding of the impact of sexual violence on everyone. Our services include 24/7 crisis intervention offered through a Helpline\, Medical Advocacy and Legal Advocacy; Prevention and Community Education\, Professional Development and Counseling services. Our services are offered at no costs for persons impacted by sexual assault/abuse throughout Lake and¬ North Cook County. \nVolunteer Opportunities \n1. Advocacy Volunteer – Provide medical advocacy at local ERs\, respond to hotline calls\, provide legal advocacy through court or education or support services. \n2. Prevention and Outreach – Provide sexual violence awareness\, prevention-education and capacity building for youth\, parents\, educators\, practitioners and community sectors. Services provided in schools\, resource fairs\, human services organizations\, civic organizations and business. \n3. Development – Assist with special events\, marketing\, grant research and writing\, social media. \n4. Administrative – General office help\, special projects\, Sexual Assault Awareness Month activities. \n5. Volunteer Therapist: seeing and providing counseling services to survivors of sexual abuse or significant others. \n6. Board of Directors Membership: agency governance\, involves monthly meetings and\ncommittee work. Contact Executive Director directly if interested.

DESCRIPTION:This annual 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Family Fun run\nwill be held during Sexual Assault Awareness Month.\n\nFor details or to register\, click here.\n\n\n\n\nNEW THIS YEAR! Design our Race to Zero T-Shirt!\n\nFor more information on how to enter\, click here.\n\nGrab your running shoes\, friends\, and family and join ZCenter for our 6th Annual Race to Zero 5K run/walk to end sexual violence at 9 AM Sunday\, April 22 at Independence Grove in Libertyville. Registration will begin at 8:00 AM.  This event celebrates and coincides with Sexual Assault Awareness Month and is an opportunity for the public to come together to raise awareness and create a community of zero tolerance for sexual violence!\n\nThis year for the first time\, the race will be officially chip timed and we are excited to partner with the Libertyville Running Club who will measure our course and sponsor our water stations!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are excited to offer complimentary post-race yoga this year. From 10:00-10:30 am\, our friends at Outpost Crossfit and Yoanna Yoga will offer a “Yoga for Recovery” class at Independence Grove following the race.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nZCenter is committed to providing a place where survivors of sexual assault and abuse can heal and mobilize the community toward action to end sexual violence.  With locations in Gurnee and Skokie\, ZCenter is Lake County’s only rape crisis center and provides free\, comprehensive\, professional support to assist survivors in the healing process\, as well as prevention education programs for children and adults.  By participating as an individual or forming a team\, runners can help raise funds for critical client services including counseling\, court/medical advocacy and 24-hour support line programs.\n\nHelp us design this year’s race t-shirt!\n\nThe Race to Zero 5K started 6 years ago as a place for community activism and we want to engage all our supporters and friends to be a huge part of the race this year.
